Candidiasis:
Candida albicans is the main responsible pathogen (in 85-90% cases).
§ Up to 75% of women will have 01 episode of vulvovaginal candidiasis in their life-time
§ Up to 45% of women may have 02 or more episodes in their life-time
§ It is the 2nd most common cause of vaginitis.
Trichomoniasis:
It is also a common vaginal infection, normally transmitted by sexual intercourse, sustained by the protozoan Trichomonas vaginalis.
More than 180 million women worldwide are infected.
