Folic Acid:
Folic acid is the synthetic version of the vitamin B-9 (also known as Folate). Folate helps the body to make healthy Red Blood Cells (RBC) and aids in the synthesis of DNA.
Folic acid is used to:
· treat or prevent Folic Acid deficiency anemia
· treat or prevent Megaloblastic anemia.
Pregnant women need more Folic Acid to lower the following risks of the fetus/child.
· Pre-term Birth
· Impaired cognitive function
· Cleft Lip/palate
· Neural Tube Defects
Growing Child needs Folic Acid throughout different stages of their development. Folic acid deficiency can result in:
· Anemia (specially, Megaloblastic Anemia)
· Gastrointestinal problems (e.g- Diarrhea & loss of appetite)
· Delayed growth & development
· Mental health issues (e.g- confusion, anxiety & depression).

Dose:
Children from 01 month of Age
5 mg (10 ml) to 15 mg (30 ml) for 04 months daily
Adult:
10 mg (20 ml) to 20 mg (40 ml) daily.
